Pipe Works 2013 - A Recital of Sacred Organ Music

Alessandro Bianchi was born in Como and studied at Piacenza Conservatoire with Luigi Toja. He was awarded diplomas in Organ and Organ Composition. His participation at masterclasses include those by Nicholas Danby and Arturo Sacchetti. He holds multiple professional positions, namely: as the organist of St. Paul’s Basilica in Cantu’, Artistic Director of the Musical Association “Amici dell’Organo di Cantu’” and the organist of the Anglican Church in Lugano.

Alessandro has toured extensively as a soloist, at the International Organ Festivals in Italy, Vatican City, Switzerland, Germany, France, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Austria, Spain, Baleares, Tenerife, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Alands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, South Africa.

On the subject of Italian music, he has given masterclasses and lectures not only in Italy, but also in Germany, Spain, USA and Mexico. He has also undertaken several CD and Radio-TV broadcasting projects and recordings in Europe, USA and Brazil, and was juror in several organ competitions. A number of composers have dedicated new organ works to him.
